When You CANNOT Use a Mobile Verifier
To protect against fraud, the DMV limits our authority. A private mobile vehicle verifier cannot verify vehicles that have been branded as "Salvage" or "Junk," vehicles that have missing or altered VIN plates, or specially constructed vehicles (like kit cars). For these, you must visit the DMV or CHP.
